Encouraged and supported by their key person, the children are free to move between each activity exploring, creating and having lots of fun.
Phonics, letters, numbers and more... Our links to Woods Foundation School and focus on helping our children learn all the skills they'll need to take their next step into School are factored into our planning and activities.
Children's learning is planned, delivered and evaluated to ensure purposeful learning and experiences filled with awe and wonder. This enables them to become confident, independent and creative learners who are able to guide their own learning through play. The children are observed to ensure their learning builds on the interests, skills and knowledge they already possess - from here next steps are put in place to positively interest and challenge the children. This is all recorded and parents are able to contribute to their child's learning journey, through the Famly App.
Woodborough Village Preschool was established in 1974, and for over 50 years we have supported the development, learning and happiness of generations of children and their families.
We are a unique, community-based preschool with a friendly, family atmosphere, dedicated staff and a strong commitment to helping every child thrive. Our provision includes outdoor learning, opportunities to explore and develop independence, and individual support tailored to each child's needs.
We are managed by a voluntary committee and operate as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), registered charity number 1217512. Our charitable status means that we exist to benefit local children and families, rather than to generate profits for owners or shareholders.
We are proud of our long-standing community roots and our membership of the Early Years Alliance. While our legal structure has changed to become an incorporated charity, our commitment to providing high-quality early years education and care remains unchanged.
Our preschool was inspected by Ofsted in March 2023 and received a GOOD judgement under the inspection framework in place at that time.
Following our transition to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, we have a new Ofsted registration. Our previous inspection report remains available to view, providing a record of the preschool's history and the inspection of our former registered organisation.
