Great News! Woodborough Village Preschool Takes an Exciting Step into the Future
Our preschool has officially become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), strengthening our foundations for the future while continuing our proud tradition of supporting local children and families since 1974.
We are delighted to announce that Woodborough Village Preschool has officially transitioned to a new charitable structure and is now registered as Woodborough Village Preschool CIO.
This is an important milestone for our preschool and marks the next chapter in our long history of providing a happy, caring and nurturing environment where children can learn, develop and thrive.
What Does This Mean?
For more than 50 years, our preschool has been part of the Woodborough community, supporting generations of children and their families. Throughout that time, our focus has remained the same: helping every child develop confidence, independence, friendships and a love of learning.
Previously, the preschool operated as an unincorporated charitable association. We have now moved to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), a legal structure specifically designed for charities.
Becoming a CIO brings important benefits, including a clearer legal identity for the charity, greater separation between the charity's responsibilities and those of its individual trustees, and a strong foundation for our continued development.
Our new charity is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity number 1217512.
What Does This Mean for Our Families?
The most important message for our parents and carers is that the preschool they know and love continues.
Our familiar setting, dedicated staff, community spirit and commitment to the children in our care remain at the heart of everything we do.
Our charitable purpose has not changed. We continue to operate for the benefit of local children and families, reinvesting our resources in the preschool rather than distributing profits to owners or shareholders.
The change is about putting the right legal foundations in place to support the preschool's long-term future.
Celebrating Our History and Looking Ahead
We are incredibly proud of our history and the generations of children who have passed through our doors since 1974.
Our commitment to providing high-quality early years education, building strong relationships with families and supporting each child's individual development remains as important today as it was when the preschool first opened.
We are also proud of the positive feedback received during our March 2023 Ofsted inspection, when our former setting received a GOOD judgement. You can continue to read the full Ofsted inspection report here.
Our new CIO has its own Ofsted registration, number 2910068. The March 2023 inspection report remains part of our preschool's history and relates to our former registration.
Thank You to Our Community
This milestone would not have been possible without the commitment of our staff, trustees, committee members, parents and the wider Woodborough community.
As a community preschool, we depend on the support, enthusiasm and involvement of the people around us. We are grateful to everyone who has helped shape our preschool over the years and who continues to contribute to its success.
Becoming a CIO is an exciting step forward, giving us a strong foundation on which to build for the future while remaining true to the values that have made our preschool special for more than five decades.
Here's to the next chapter for Woodborough Village Preschool — continuing to help local children learn, grow and flourish for many years to come!
